Massage therapy is one of the oldest known and effective therapies for releasing tension, enducing relaxation, treatment for soft tissue pain and muscular dysfunction within the body. Massage can aid in the flushing of lactic acid and realigning scar tissue post activity, and restoring balance to the muscular-skeletal system. Massage received regularly can help prevent injuries that might be caused by muscle overuse, which over time can build up and may consequently lead to stresses on the joints and associated structures creating further injury and pain. Sports & Remedial Massage can also be used in Pre and Post event Inter competition environments in addition to being used for general maintenance. Treatment Nikki will work on improving the quality of the soft tissues within the body, increase the blood supply and releasing muscle tension. Her overall approach is to address postural dysfunctions and imbalances found within the body caused by injury, training or everyday activities. Nikki uses a number of different massage techniques including classical Swedish techniques along with deep forearm massage, neuromuscular technique (NMT), friction, fascia release, soft tissue release (STR), muscle energy technique (MET) and facilitated stretching. Each person is different and therefore Nikki offers a mix of sports and remedial treatments. Remember, almost anyone regardless of your age, lifestyle can receive massage.
